After having spent the required 5 years as an articled law clerk, passed the bar exam and obtained my degree, I graduated in 1978. I was shortly thereafter admitted to the South African Bar. In May, 1979, I commenced practice as an attorney for my own account, first as a partner and, thereafter, as a sole practitioner until my departure to the United States in 1986. My areas of expertise lay primarily in the business litigation and transactional arenas.

After studying and successfully taking the California Bar exam, I was admitted to the California Bar in 1988, from which date, I have been continuously practicing as an attorney in California with specific emphasis in business and civil litigation, as well as transactional work. In addition, I have served as the head of the arbitration panel for the United States Trampolining Association.

As far as transactional work is concerned, I provide advice in regard to an array of business transactions, including, the purchase and sale of businesses, corporations, partnerships and sole proprietorships. Furthermore, the agreements that I have drafted include shareholders agreements, partnership agreements, licensing agreements, agency, sales, distributor and stock purchase agreements, residential and commercial leases, and general business agreements for the day-to-day operation thereof.

In addition, my experience in the employment arena, besides litigation, includes the negotiation of employment and severance agreements, employee handbooks and manuals, as well as the counseling of management with respect to the hiring, discipline and termination of employees.

Finally, my overall experience over the last approximately 30 years includes the handling, through completion, of numerous trials (both jury and non-jury), binding and non-binding arbitrations and mediation.
